FAQ

General Questions

Please upload all required tax documents through your secure client portal by our internal deadline for your return type.

  • Business returns (1120-S / 1065): February 1
  • Individual returns (1040): March 1
  • Nonprofit returns (990): April 1

If your documents arrive after these dates, an extension may be filed automatically and the $250 extension fee will apply.

All files should be uploaded through your secure client portal. You can log in, drag and drop your files into your tax-year folder, and we’ll review them as soon as possible. Please do not email tax documents for security reasons.

Once your documents are received and your online Organizer has been submitted, we’ll confirm that your file is complete and begin preparing your return. You’ll receive a message through the portal if anything else is needed. When your return is ready, you’ll review and electronically sign your e-file forms before submission.

If you’re missing key documents, let us know right away so we can file an extension. Filing an extension gives extra time to file, not to pay, so we’ll help estimate your balance due to avoid penalties and interest.

Payment & Billing Questions

Invoices are due upon receipt. Work is not released or filed until payment is received. If you need to make a payment, you can do so securely through the link in your invoice or request a payment link through your client portal.

Tax Filing & Compliance Questions

Yes. All eligible federal and state returns are e-filed after you sign the authorization forms in your client portal. However, some returns will need to be paper filed. If a return needs to be paper filed, you will receive instructions on where to send the file once you’ve printed, and signed the return. If you’re sending anything through the mail it is always a good idea to send correspondence with Certified Mail tracking.
